Introducing the Lister Bell STR Le Mans.
Here we have a new addition to the LB range of models.
This car is a replica of the very unique Lancia Strato’s Turbo which ran on the Tour de France in 1974 & 76 the Giro D’Italia in 1974 & 75 & also at the 24hours of Le Means in 1976 & 1977. The car appeared in Marlboro, Alitalia, Eminence & Aseptogyl liveries during its racing life. The original car now resides in Switzerland and still wears its 1977 Aseptogyl Le Mans livery. The Strato’s turbo had a wheel base which was extended by 12cm from 2180mm to 2300mm, the car was also wider across the rear arches and was fitted with 14″ wide rear rims for dry tarmac use with 360mm tyres.
The car we see here carries the first set of panels we have taken from our new moulds & this car/kit is now with its owner in Europe.
The chassis for this car is based on that of the standard STR but the extra 12cm in the wheelbase is split equally between the cockpit & the engine bay which allow this car to better accommodate taller drivers & also allows us a little more freedom on the engine bay for forced induction engine installations.
This particular car will be finished in the 1976 Le Mans Aseptogyl scheme, it is fitted with a 3.2 Alfa V6 running with Jenvey throttle bodies & an Emerald ECU.
The car is sitting on Marvic magnesium wheels with Michelin TB15 tyres.
More images will be added as the project is progressed.
